About the class
Experience art like never before at the Ulster museum!
This immersive weekend course delves into the rich use of light, colour, and expressive technique in Irish art, drawing inspiration from the museum’s exhibtion Light from the West: Irish Art after 1870.
Over two days, participants will study works such as Derrynane (in the Sun) by Jack Butler Yeats and Field of Corn by Roderic O’Conor, exploring dynamic brushwork and vibrant palettes. The focus will be on painting in gouache, with both guided exercises and self-led development, allowing participants to explore light, colour, and expressive brushwork.
