Join us for an exciting new workshop at Under the Drum Festival that invites you to explore drawing in bold, expressive, and unconventional ways.
This playful, hands-on session will introduce experimental approaches to mark-making using both traditional and found tools. We’ll begin by foraging for natural materials from the surrounding area (think twigs, leaves, stones) and then use these alongside ink and traditional drawing tools to explore texture, line and shape through a series of guided exercises.
The emphasis is on process, experimentation and self-expression rather than finished outcomes. By the end of the session, participants will have created their own expressive series of drawings, with the option to contribute to a large, collaborative piece made from everyone’s mark-making explorations.
This workshop is ideal for anyone with some drawing experience who wants to loosen up their drawing style, or anyone simply looking to try something new and creative in a relaxed, supportive environment.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This workshop is available to attendees of the Under the Drum Festival. Visit underthedrum.co.uk to find out more.
